Curtin Housing Forums - outcomes

Australia has a housing affordability crisis. It has been a long time coming; the outcome of ineffective and inadequate housing policies by successive State and Federal Governments.

Housing is a key cost of living indicator and housing affordability is a matter affecting all generations of Curtin residents. Housing outcomes are also a key component of the intergenerational divide.

It was against this backdrop that I held the Curtin Housing Forums in 2023 to hear directly from the local community about their housing policy priorities and potential solutions. As well as two community meetings, constituents were also invited to contribute through an online survey and by submitting policy suggestions.

The below Summary Report is the outcome of the Curtin Housing Forums and will inform my work in Canberra and my advocacy on this essential issue.
