Donations are tax deductible for individual donors (not companies) up to $1,500 in a financial year. For more information on tax deductions, please refer to your financial advisor or to the Australian Tax Office.
To ensure donation transparency in line with her Fair and Transparent Elections Bill, Kate Chaney voluntarily discloses all cash donations on her website in real-time, with donors required to be identified by name for donations (or group of donations) above $1,000.
If your donation is more than $16,900 (or where a series of donations together exceeds $16,900 in the 2024/25 financial year), then you will need to lodge a Donor Return with the Australian Electoral Commission. You will also need to lodge a donor disclosure, which we will notify you about at the time.
